Irma Reyes is a member resistance group in Mataquescuintla currently under siege from Canadian silver mining company, Tahoe (For more information, read Under Siege: Peaceful Resistance to Tahoe Resources and Militarization in Guatemala). Last year, Bows & Arrows organized a group of small roasters - including Quietly - to buy the group's entire production in solidarity with Mataquescuintla coffee farmers. In an effort to put buying power behind social justice, they ended up uncovering some the best coffees produced anywhere in Guatemala. We're told this years harvest was even better than the last!
